Each apartment has a high level of amenity that maximises natural light and captures the unique city and farmland outlook.

Ashton Mitchell have been working closely with developers McConnell Property to produce a design-led scheme that takes advantage of its unique location and maximises yield from a small site. Nestled at the end of Purewa Road, Meadowbank, the boutique four-storey development offers twenty-four apartments in a range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouse suites.

TEAL has been functionally designed around two circulation cores with common circulation space rationalised allowing for the number of dual-aspect apartments to increase. Due to this approach in design, each apartment has a high level of amenity that maximises natural light and captures the unique city and farmland outlook. The building has been purposefully orientated to these western and northern views.

Architecturally, the building grows from the site up to a sculptural roof form that is inspired by the Ngapipi boat sheds. The metal cladding selected for the roof has a custom warm metallic finish referencing the light reflecting from Ōrākei Basin. This custom finish has been integrated down to street level, marking the entrance to the development.

To compliment the metal-clad upper floor a refined material palette has been chosen consisting of a tactile brick veneer and full-height glazed panels. The brick veneer is laid in a combination of solider course, stretcher, and stack bond defining transitions between the various claddings and apartments. Expressed floor edges emphasise this design move further, creating horizontal breaks in the overall façade, avoiding a monolithic form.
